We were denied when we applied for marriage license at the Queon City Civil registry last August 3, 2015.
Quezon City has a City Ordinance on Gender Fair aka Anti-Discrimination Ordinance but still we were not allowed to apply for marriage license because the Family Code of the Philippines states that the marriage is between man and woman. Same Sex couples can not be married under this Code.
We were felt bad. We felt that there is something wrong. There must be done to allow us to marry. We are part of this City, we are part of this country. We are Filipino citizen. We have the right to marry and form a family. LGBT are Families , too!
We will seek the help of the Philippine Supreme Court. We will fill a petition this month. Our lawyers, Atty Clara Rita Padilla and Atty Jesus Falcis will help us on this legal battle.
We humbly ask the 15 Supreme Court Justices to hear our case as soon as possible.
